The author's personal experience.

Don't be disdain if you lost your job temporarily. There are other alternatives that are more exciting and challenging and once you hooked on it, you will become a fanatic  practitioner of that hobby forever.

Welcome to the world of trash scavenging.

Easy and simple tips to hit pay dirt.

1. Be an errand person.

Make yourself available as a free-service personnel, like a free house cleaner. Clean the house willingly and removed all the  trash that accumulated in the household. Entertain the owner as you clean it. Later all the trash will be given to you even those that are not. Choose the high value trash like, leather bags, old jeans, antique  pieces (this will have value if sold as collectibles.) copper, aluminum, stainless steel and bronze. Keep this for yourself. Reject those bulky trash like paper, cartons, furniture and others that may worth less but eat up lot of spaces.

2. Sidewalk adventure scavenging

Park is a good generator of high-value trash. Sift through the garbage bins of the park fast and furious as they say for in everything you do, there is always competition.Don't stay too long in one bin.  After you had sweep the whole area choose another nearest target.

3. Passive hunter of trash.

If you had observed that a certain area generates a lot of high value trash, stay in that locality like a fisherman angling on  fish-rich lake. This was done so that you are the first person to grab the prize-catch.

This three basic tips will entertain you as you contemplate for the next job to be applied for. And if you are already enjoying your new job, the scavenger in you will stay. Sometimes you wouldn't notice that you have  loaded your bag with crushed aluminum cans as you go home from your office.
